John McNesby on Dishonest Portrayal of Police by Philadelphia Officials
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by offering his thoughts on the horrific school shooting in Tennessee involving a transgendered individual targeting a Christian school. Dom offers up a potential solution to an issue like this, wondering whether we should have trained individuals who can quickly respond and assist officers in these types of tragedies. Dom also discusses the media response to the incident, telling why he believes the media will continue to try and ignore as much of the story as possible because it runs counter to their usual narratives. Then, Dom asks his side question of the day, wondering who it is that has a distinct smile.
Then, Dom welcomes in FOP Lodge 5 President John McNesby back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the continued refusal of city leaders to condemn tweets made by certain city officials condemning a police officer who allegedly used a racial slur during an arrest. On body camera footage this week, it was made very clear that the officer did not use the alleged racial slur, which even City Council members rushed to condemn and call out, sullying the officer's reputation. Giordano wonders why Police Commissioner Outlaw nor Mayor Jim Kenney have spoken out on the incident, with McNesby telling that he's unsurprised, telling that this kind of rhetoric is what further catalyzes anti-police rhetoric. Also, Dom and McNesby discuss the mayoral race, with Giordano asking the FOP President whether they're closer to an endorsement, with McNesby revealing that one candidate refused a meeting with the FOP in fear of being seen entering into the headquarters.
How Do We Address Mental Health and Gun Ownership Without Red Flag Laws?
In today's second hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by providing an update on her appearance on the Pitt campus which has caused controversy on campus. Yesterday, protestors blocked the street where former NCAA athlete Riley Gaines was set to speak about her experience competing with and against transgendered individuals. Dom comments on the double-standard presented at Universities, and calls to attention a bill in the Pennsylvania statehouse that would ban dissenting speakers from campuses, largely targeting speakers with conservative ideology. Then, Dom switches gears back to the shooting in Tennessee, offering more updates on the shooter involved. Producer Dan chimes in, asking how conservatives should approach the mental health issue while still warning of the dangers of background checks and red flag laws.
Camden Offering $10K Bonuses To New Teachers, Teachers Union Hates It
In today's third hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by revealing news that the Camden School District plans to offer new hires a $10,000 bonus for teaching in their district. Dom tells that New Jersey's teachers union, NJEA, has spoken out against the bonuses, pointing out how hypocritical it is to speak out against something like this while biding themselves as pro-teacher rather than pro-union. Then, Dom tells that Sea Isle City is planning to implement a curfew, explaining why he's against a curfew as he believes it doesn't work. Then, Dom updates the marijuana situation in New Jersey, reporting some problems in sales due to high prices, and also provides a running update of the mayoral race in Philadelphia, asking whether the police endorsement helps or hurts Democratic candidates.
