Shapiro Breaks Silence on Philadelphia Crime, Why Not Highlight The True Issues?

Today, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing a press conference held by Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro addressing the enormous spike in crime and violence in Philadelphia. Giordano leads off the show by telling why AG Shapiro is dangerous from a political standpoint, telling of his political power in the State and within his party. Then, Giordano dissects the press conference, playing back Shapiro’s proposed fixes for the situation, including commentary about ghost guns and cash bail.
Giordano, happy that Shapiro would address the cash bail situation, shows frustration for the Attorney General’s refusal to call out who’s responsible by name, being District Attorney Larry Krasner. Also, Giordano takes umbrage with allegations made by Shapiro, placing blame for ghost guns on the shoulders of Republican members of the Assembly. Then, Giordano switches focus to a national scope, offering his opinion on the revelations surrounding Mark Meadows and January 6th, after it was revealed that Fox News hosts allegedly sent text messages urging the former Chief of Staff to help stop the Capitol insurgency. After that, Giordano switches back to local issues, taking callers on the Shapiro press conference.

John McNesby and Bill McSwain Offer Their Thoughts On DA Krasner and AG Shapiro Press Conferences on Crime

John McNesby, President of Philadelphia’s police union, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss and respond to a Monday morning press conference held by District Attorney Larry Krasner. First, Giordano plays back a clip from yesterday’s Krasner press conference. Krasner, when asked about his relationship with police, noted that his relationship with Commissioner Outlaw is great but he will continue to refuse to work with the FOP due to past comments, alleging that leadership of the FOP is a “mouthpiece for Donald Trump.” McNesby jokes that the only explanation for Krasners lies are because McNesby and the FOP continues to be in the head of the District Attorney, and challenges the DA to a boxing match. Then, McNesby offers his thoughts on the crime throughout the city, and tells what listeners can do to help police through the holiday season. After McNesby, Dom takes a couple more callers on the topic of crime, and tells of a conspiracy theory propagated by sportswriter Bill Simmons, who alleges that Michelle Tafoya has been kept off Sunday Night Football due to her time filling the conservative seat of The View.

Then, Gubernatorial candidate and former United States Attorney Bill McSwain returns to the Dom Giordano Program, first to offer commentary on press conferences held by DA Larry Krasner and AG Josh Shapiro surrounding the spike of crime in Philadelphia. McSwain offers his opinion, telling that Shapiro was acting today, noting past instances that Shapiro could have stepped in to stop Krasner, instead choosing which path has the highest political payoff. Then, McSwain and Giordano switch over to the real reason that McSwain joins today, discussing an education announced reform proposed by McSwain in his lead up to his gubernatorial race. In his “Pillars for Educational Reform,” McSwain made a pledge to never accept money from teachers’ unions, enact a Parents Bill of Rights, and offer educational opportunities for all students through school choice. In addition, McSwain lays forth what’s written into his Parents Bill of Rights, which lays forth the restoration of parental rights, including the right to an in-person education, the right to know which curriculum is being taught, and the right to have your child educated without political biases.

Who’s Really At Fault For Lack Of Prosecutions?

To lead off the third hour of the show, Pennsylvania State Representative Craig Williams joins the Dom Giordano Program to respond to Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who today in a press conference, alleged that the assembly refuses to lift a finger to help the crime crisis in Philadelphia and around the state of Pennsylvania. First, Williams responds directly to Shapiro’s claims that the assembly has dragged their feet on a potential $30 million infusion into public safety in the State, refuting with proof of past policies that he has personally worked on to both bring funding for public safety, and offering more jurisdiction power to the Attorney General to prosecute gun crimes in Philadelphia. Williams reveals that in 2019, Shapiro was granted more authority to prosecute these crimes but hasn’t used it to his greatest advantage, and notes that he’s currently working on re-granting the same authority as the edict has since expired. Williams also takes us inside Harrisburg, explaining what Josh Shapiro is like on a personal level, and pontificates why he continues pushing for such progressive policies.

Then, after playing Dom’s Money Melody for the day, Giordano switches back to taking listener calls surrounding the three previous interviews and crime in Philadelphia. Dom continues discussing Krasner and crime throughout the rest of the show, and asks listeners if they could snap their fingers and learn a skill, which skill they would most like to learn. Also, Giordano and Dan discuss politically correct Christmas songs, and tell which skills they would most like to learn.
