Readin', Writin', and Reason with Dom Giordano | Episode 68

Crisis and Aggression in Children

Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.

First, Dom welcomes local defense attorney Rania Major, who represents one of the children involved in the beating death of 73-year-old James Lambert on Cecil B. Moore avenue. Major describes how and why she’s decided to get involved in the case that’s made both local and national headlines, offering a look into the planned defense of her juvenile client. Also, Major provides a bit more clarity on what happened the night from the perspective of the assailants, and explains why she believes everybody deserves the right to a criminal defense.

Then, local attorney Lonny Fish, representing a 14-year-old charged with 3rd degree murder for the beating death of 73-year-old James Lambert, joins the Dom Giordano Program to preview the defense of his 14-year-old client, telling about his client and telling he does not see how we would be safer by locking up. Lonny argues his point, telling that in the overall scope of gun violence and heightened violence in Philadelphia, putting a 14-year-old in jail would make no change. In addition, Fish provides in-depth details about the night, and how he believes the timeline to work out as the case moves on.
