A would-be thief in northern Colorado found his bank robbery attempt foiled by an unexpected obstacle: his own handwriting, which left the teller unable to decipher his demands.
The man, who is now the subject of a police search, walked into the First National Bank in Loveland, Colorado, about 50 miles north of Denver, on December 17 and handed a teller a note, according to the Loveland Police Department.
However, the man's handwriting was nearly impossible to read, leaving the teller unable to make out his demands, CBS Denver reported.
As tension mounted and the teller struggled to decipher the note, the man grew increasingly frustrated and ultimately left the bank empty-handed.
Authorities are still working to identify the suspect, who made no attempt to conceal his face during the botched robbery.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a brown hoodie and a green baseball cap, though these items have provided little help in narrowing down his identity.
Police are continuing their investigation.
