You might want to go out for your chicken sandwiches for a little while after a recall of 148,000 chicken patties sold at Costco was announced on Saturday.
The recall was announced by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service on Saturday after it had received “consumer complaints reporting hard clear plastic embedded in fully cooked, frozen, breaded chicken breast patty products with a best-by date of Aug. 11, 2023.”
According to the notice, the recall affects 148,000 Foster Farms Chicken Patties that went to Costco locations across the country.
It isn’t known the exact locations that received the recalled bags, but they were sent to Costco distribution centers in California, Washington, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.
“There have been no confirmed reports of injury associated with consumption of this product, but FSIS believes the hard plastic pieces could be sharp and possibly cause an injury,” the recall said.
The affected products are 80-ounce bags with a best-by date of 08/11/23, establishment number P-33901, lot code number 3*2223**, and UPC code number 075278997246 under the barcode.
Consumers who purchased one of the recalled products should not eat them and either return them for a full refund or throw them away.
