“All I say is they better hope I win because you’re going to have a 1929 number if I don’t win,” said former President Donald Trump in an exclusive interview this week with Nick Kayal, Greg Stocker, and Dawn Stensland of WPHT in Philadelphia, Pa.

He was referring to the U.S. economy, which has been plagued with inflation and high interest rates in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. While President Joe Biden has been touting job growth on the campaign trail, Trump said that can be attributed to “bounce back” from his own administration’s policies.

We had the greatest economy in history that we had the COVID and then the jobs went down quickly,” he said. “And then, you know, we have a bounce back with a pandemic. You have a very big bounce back... it all comes at one time.”

Trump had a wide-ranging with the crew in Philadelphia, including talk of his son Barron, who just turned 18 and has been kept largely out of the spotlight until now. “He’s a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he’s a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy," Trump told WPHT. "And he’s really been a great student. And he does like politics. It’s sort of funny.

“He’ll tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do ... "So anyway, he’s a good guy. He’s a senior now in high school, and he’ll be going to college. And you know, a lot of, a lot of these choices of colleges are changing because you see what's going on in the last month."

Trump also said that another term with him in the White House would mean good things for the U.S. economy, adding that even said that the stock market has benefitted from his positive polling numbers.

“We have some good numbers coming out. The polls have been phenomenal and I’m so happy to see. I mean – it’s incredible what’s happening with all the fake trials and all of this,” he said referring to multiple legal challenges he faces as the 2024 election heats up. “It’s really a Biden retribution. It’s Biden something, he can’t put two sentences together.”

During the exclusive interview, Trump also discussed the way Biden has handled the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and what he would do about Title IX at schools.

“If anybody that’s Jewish votes for him or Democrats, they have to have their head examined,” he said regarding the war. It’s… they are being treated so badly and have been for years.”

In March of 2021, Biden issued an executive order “guaranteeing an educational environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual orientation or gender identity,” related to Title IX.

Stensland told Trump that parents are concerned about their children going back to school in August when the changes kick in. She said a “biological boy” would be able to change in a locker room for girls.

It’s crazy. Crazy,” said Trump. “What – what would you do on day one? Don't forget, that was done as an order from the president that came down as an executive order. And we’re going to change it on day one. It’s going to be change. We’re going to end it.”
