If anyone needed to prove that downing an entire bottle of Prosecco on a JetBlue flight could end badly, use this case in point: A California man faces two years in prison for allegedly exposing his genitals to a flight attendant after doing just that.
The flight was scheduled from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to LAX, and the suspect started drinking during an hour-long delay, authorities said in a court filing.
Dennis Wally Woodbury, described in media reports as "a chameleon enthusiast from Southern California" allegedly drank the bottle of Italian wine and then claimed the flight attendants had "solicited" him to drop his pants.
He also allegedly blamed them for not accompanying him to the bathroom.
For their part, crew said they saw Woodbury slurring his words and rambling. And when the lead flight attendant woke him up to try to convince him to eat and absorb the alcohol he is accused of slapping the flight attendant's buttocks, and exposing his erect penis. He went back to his seat and slept for the remainder of the flight.
They told authorities he did it not once, but twice, and was issued a notice to cease objectionable behavior by the crew. The Independent reports that he also asked a young girl walking down the airplane aisle "if her parents made her out of lust or love.”
Upon arrival at LAX, Los Angeles Airport Police escorted Woodbury off the plane.
Woodbury was arrested and faces up to two years in prison if convicted. He was released on a $50,000 appearance bond after charges were filed.
