Police in New Hampshire have arrested and charged a man who they say knocked over a portable toilet that had a woman and child inside, who then became trapped.
The Manchester Police Department shared in a press release an 18-year-old man has been charged with criminal mischief and criminal restraint for his alleged actions.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Derryfield Park when the man, who has not yet been identified, pushed over the port-a-potty that had a woman and her 4-year-old daughter inside.
Witnesses shared with the police that they had seen the man and woman arguing near the port-a-potty before she went inside. Police also shared that the two did not know each other.
After the toilet fell over, it landed with the door on the pavement, trapping the woman and her daughter.
Bystanders who had seen the incident go down helped overturn the toilet, freeing the woman and child, who were reportedly covered in feces and bodily fluids, police reported.
Police noted that the woman and her daughter did not suffer any serious injuries from the incident.
The man has also been charged with assault for throwing something at one of the officers who were at the scene.
