We now know when Southwest Airlines will start their new assigned seating and when you can buy tickets reflecting that.
The Dallas-based carrier announced tickets reflecting assigned seating go on sale next week.
The new assigned seating policy will not begin until January 27th but those tickets will go on sale next Tuesday.
"Our customers want more choice and greater control over their travel experience," Southwest Executive Vice President Customer and Brand Tony Roach said. "Assigned seating unlocks new opportunities for our customers - including the ability to select extra legroom seats - and removes the uncertainty of not knowing where they will sit in the cabin."
Planes have been going through a retrofit adding more leg space for those who want to pay for it.
The "A, B, C" boarding groups will be replaced by eight groups based on the assigned seat.
