ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Many who watched Saturday Night Live in the 1990s will remember the name of comedian Tim Meadows, who was a cast member on the show for 10 seasons from 1991-2000.

Most notably during his stint in SNL, Meadows was known for impersonating O.J. Simpson. Among those episodes, his most famous skit was with Will Ferrell in 1995, where he impersonated Simpson writing his novel 'I did it'.

Meadows, who joined Chris Rongey and Amy Marxkors on The Chris and Amy Show ahead of his comedy show at the Helium Comedy Club, discussed the skit a day after OJ Simpson died of cancer, at the age of 76.

"A lot of my friends has been sending me texts, sending me things from Twitter, people has been passing around that 'I did it' sketch from SNL," said Meadows. "It has been just a normal day for me though."

Meadows said that since his sketches as OJ Simpson was almost 30 years ago, he hasn't really even thought about it at all, but came to appreciate the work he did.

"I was serious about the stuff when I was doing it, I think we were sort of making a comment on the trial and everything that was pretty important," said Meadows. "I just haven't thought about it in a while so it's kind of weird to talk about like yeah the dude has passed away and to me it's a sad story all around, it's almost like hard for me to make light of it."
