In a scene straight out of a movie -- maybe one titled 'Shark School Lets Out' -- a popular Alabama beach filled with revelers was inundated with sharks.
People stood on dozens of boats and watched them slither by, checking out the scene.
A man named Brett wrote on Twitter, "Hammerheads are hunting for the migrating stingrays that swim along the Gulf coast beaches. The HH are not at all interested in humans. With that said, I likely would have used the force get the F out of the water."
The website for Orange Beach, Ala., posted on Facebook that the video was shot by a drone from overhead. They added crucial insight into what could appear to be a dangerous situation.
"While this may sound alarming to some, it is important to note that sharks in our area are not man-eaters," the website says. The video showcases the natural behavior of these majestic creatures as they search for their preferred prey, such as stingrays and flounder.
"It is crucial to understand that hammerhead sharks primarily feed on a variety of marine life, including stingrays and flounder. While their appearance may instill awe, respect and in some cases fear, it is essential to appreciate their role in maintaining a balanced marine ecosystem."
Natalie Zervos took a different tack, writing on Twitter, "Not one person could have thrown them a snack? They were hungry! No one had a spare hot dog or anything?"
