(WWJ) Vice President Kamala Harris is headed back to Michigan on Thursday, this time with a special guest.
Oprah Winfrey will join the Democratic presidential nominee for a livestream rally to be filmed in the Detroit area. This comes after Oprah — famed talk show host, TV producer, actress, author, and media proprietor — endorsed Harris during a speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
"I am hosting a virtual event with Vice President Kamala Harris and voters from across our great nation to talk through these freedoms we’re fighting for and how you can help us win," Winfrey said, in a message included in the Harris campaign release about the virtual rally.
The Harris campaign did not disclose an exact location for the event, it's scheduled for Sept. 19, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. — in front of a small, invited audience.

This event marks Harris' third visit to Michigan since she was selected to replace President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket.
Michigan, a highly contested swing state, has been the laser focus of attention and numerous campaign visits this election season.
Harris' Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, and his vice presidential pick, JD Vance, both visited Michigan earlier this week. Trump appeared at a Town Hall in Flint, speaking on issues including the U.S. auto industry and oil production.
In a statement provided to media outlets ahead of the Harris/Oprah event, the Michigan GOP released the following statement:
"It's clear Kamala Harris has no idea how to tackle our economic crisis - her policies got Michiganders into this mess, and she's offered no plan on how to fight inflation. Well, we're sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't lower inflation by hiding goodie bags under chairs. Michiganders can't afford life right now - four more years is unimaginable. Oh, and don't forget - a Harris-Walz administration means that you'll get a tax raise, you'll get a tax raise, and you'll get a tax raise!"
