(WWJ) As the U.S. presidential election draws nearer, both major parties have a sharp eye on Michigan.
The Trump-Vance campaign has announced that the former president will make two appearances in the Great Lakes State this Friday.
First, Trump will speak in Kent County's Walker, near Grand Rapids. That event is planned for 2 p.m. on Sept. 27, with doors opening at 11 a.m., at FALK Production on Northridge Dr. NW.
After that, the former president will make his way to Metro Detroit, hosting a town hall at Macomb Community College, on 12 Mile Rd. in Warren. That event is planned for 6 p.m. on Sept. 27, with doors opening at 3 p.m.
Tickets for both of these Trump speaking engagements are available online at this link.
It's been a busy election season in Michigan, with both major party candidates and their running mates making frequent stops all over the state.
Trump's opponent, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, was last in Michigan last Thursday when she was joined by Oprah Winfrey for a livestreamed rally.
Reacting to Trump Warren visits in a statement, Michigan Democratic Coordinated Campaign Rapid Response Director Shafeeqa Kolia said: “Donald Trump’s presidency was a disaster for Michigan auto workers, and no one knows that better than the people of Warren, where Trump allowed a GM plant to close down — after standing in Warren and promising that not one plant would close under his watch. As president, Trump killed 30,000 manufacturing jobs and made it easier for companies to ship our jobs overseas. A second Trump term would be even worse – just last week he said we should let the Chinese Communist Party ‘dominate’ the future of the US auto industry.”
This comes as absentee voting will begin this week in Michigan, with ballots available starting on Thursday, Sept. 26.
