We start the second hour looking toward Veterans Day before moving into the latest Middle East developments. The Wall Street Journal reports that the United States is preparing another carrier deployment and thousands of additional personnel as tensions with Iran continue. We debate the length and direction of the conflict, then turn to Pete Hegseth’s State of the Force speech and his blunt language about military readiness, grooming standards and merit.
The conversation shifts to the Portland Trail Blazers and Braiden Bell. Portland announces Bell as its new television play-by-play voice, then drops him hours later after offensive posts from 2012 and 2013 resurface from when he is roughly 15 years old. We debate accountability, whether organizations should judge adults for things said as teenagers, how permanent social-media archives change childhood mistakes, and what parents should tell kids before they begin posting publicly.
