Joel Embiid, already playing through a torn ligament in his thumb, is now out for at least the 76ers series opener against the Heat after suffering a broken orbital bone and a concussion in Philadelphia’s game six victory over the Heat.
The devastating news for the Sixers not only sparked collective mourning from fans on Twitter, but it also brought back footage of the play where Embiid likely suffered the injury in Toronto, mainly because the Raptors broadcast seemed to take pleasure in seeing Embiid take an elbow to the face from Pascal Siakam.

The play before the injury, with four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Embiid threw down a slam to put the Sixers up by 29, then broke out in an airplane celebration that color commentator Jack Armstrong called “bush league.” When Embiid was elbowed on the other end of the court, Armstrong said, “You get what you deserve.”
“Be a good sportsman,” Armstrong continued. “You know what it is…karma is a you know what, right?”
