If you're looking for the next Darren Sproles, you'll probably be looking for quite a while.

The 5'6, 190-pound halfback was one of the most unique weapons in NFL history, racking up over 3,500 rushing yards and 4,840 yards during a career that spanned 14 seasons. For good measure, Sproles has seven career punt return touchdowns, which places him in the top 10 in the history of the league.

Still, fans will always be intrigued by trying to find the next installment of Sproles. On a recent Bleacher Report "Ask Me Anything," a fan asked Sproles what player in the game reminds him most of himself and he responded by saying "I would have to say Boston Scott."

Though he was often injured during his final three seasons in the NFL, Sproles was a teammate of Scott during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, so he did get an up-close look at the Louisiana Tech product. That includes when Scott rushed for three touchdowns and added another 84 receiving yards in a Week 17 victory over the New York Giants in 2019, helping a depleted Eagles team to clinch an NFC East title.

Scott has shown no signs of being the type of threat that Sproles was as a punt returner, though Sproles' compliment does make you wonder why Doug Pederson and the Eagles didn't lean more on Scott in 2020.

For much of the season, the Eagles offense was stagnant - or worse - with Carson Wentz turning in a disastrous campaign behind a banged-up offensive line and with an underwhelming group of pass catchers. Miles Sanders, of course, is the top running back option for the Eagles, but he missed four games this past season.

On the 80 rushing attempts that Scott received in 2020, he was pretty effective, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. He also caught 25 passes for 212 yards. If he was on the Kansas City Chiefs, it would be one thing for him to be underutilized. For him to having struggled to consistently get touches on the 2020 Eagles, well, it tells you all you need to know about the 2020 Eagles.

It maybe shouldn't be assumed the Scott is a lock to be a part of the 2021 team, though it would seemingly behoove new head coach Nick Sirianni and offensive coordinator Shane Steichen to get him involved more frequently if he is.
