PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Washington Football Team's COVID-19 outbreak has led to the NFL moving the Philadelphia Eagles' game against them at Lincoln Financial Field to Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Some Eagles players are far from thrilled about it.
Defensive back Darius Slay vehemently expressed reasons why he disagrees with the decision.
One reason involved how the NFL originally said that if a team had an outbreak of coronavirus due to unvaccinated players, that team would have to forfeit the game, which would theoretically mean a win for the Eagles. There was no initial confirmation of any unvaccinated players on Washington's roster getting COVID-19.
Another involves the fact that the Eagles will have to turn around and play the next Sunday afterward, meaning just four games between game days.
Fellow Eagles defensive back Rodney McLeod also offered complaints that another team's issues are affecting them.
Fletcher Cox and Lane Johnson's thoughts were a bit shorter, but just as reflective of the shock, surprise and questioning of the moment.
KYW Newsradio's Dave Uram shared both the drawbacks and benefits for the Eagles entering what is almost a must-win game for their playoff hopes.
