Howard Eskin: 'I'll donate $500 to Eagles Autism Challenge if they draft Peter Skoronski'

Eskin also says 'zero chance' the Birds take Bijan Robinson

If there’s anyone on the 94WIP staff who has a finger on the pulse of the Eagles’ draft war room, it’s Howard Eskin – and if you’re following along with the “Bijan or Bust” split amongst the on-air staff, this one might turn the tide for you.

Joining Joe DeCamara (against Bijan) and Jon Ritchie (for) on Wednesday, Eskin said there’s ‘no chance’ the Birds take Robinson…and also downplayed the other popular name on most staff’s minds.

“Below zero, there is not one chance they are going to draft Bijan Robinson at No. 10,” Eskin said. “You win with the offensive and defensive line, and I think they’re going to take an offensive lineman, but if Jalen Carter is there, then maybe they take him.”

But that offensive lineman, Eskin says, likely won’t be Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski, who is a popular want among those around here who don’t want Robinson.

“I just don’t think from people I’ve talked to that he’s valued that high. He’s good, but not valued that high,” Eskin said. “It’s the flavor of the minute, and once we at WIP lean on something, there’s no stopping it.”

Over the weekend, Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports joined Tom Kelly and said Skoronski could be a Pro Bowl right guard this year if he became an Eagle, but otherwise, right now, it seems Cam Jurgens is earmarked for the spot to replace Isaac Seumalo.

“They believe he can play right guard, and they’re working him out there,” Eskin said of Jurgens. “Jeff Stoutland is a great coach, and if necessary, Jurgens can probably play the right guard. I’m not sure what they think, but it’s still April, before the draft, and so many things can change.”

Indeed, but this is where Howard doubled down after Joe & Jon mentioned Skoronski’s ability to play anywhere on the line next year with a wager offer for the guys.

“If they draft Peter Skoronski, I will donate $500 to the Eagles Autism Challenge in the name of anyone you want – but if he’s not, one of you geniuses donate $500 to my page.”
