Moments after news broke that the Eagles had dealt for running back D’Andre Swift, GM Howie Roseman joined ESPN’s Draft coverage and joked that with now six ex-Georgia Bulldogs, all of whom played there in 2019 or later, on the roster, “I’m sure I’m put of the Florida alumni association as we speak.”

Howie is a Gator, but his offense now adds a Bulldog to two ex-Crimson Tide and a Rebel by bringing home a Philly kid to the team that has been watching him for a long time.

“A lot of credit to Brad Holmes, the Lions’ GM, for working through this with us and finding something that matched up,” Roseman said of the deal. “Philly kid, we knew him playing in high school at St. Joe’s Prep and followed him in college. Tremendous player and person, and we’re excited to get him to Philly.”

The Birds lost Miles Sanders in free agency but did add Rashaad Penny from Seattle, and now, with Swift, have a potent combo to go with holdovers Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell.

“He’s got big playability as a runner and a receiver, which we saw first-hand last year in Detroit,” Roseman said. “He has vision, and tremendous character. We liked our running backs and didn’t come into the Draft feeling we needed to upgrade, but we felt he could really add to the culture and success of our team.”
