As Bryce Harper trotted out onto Citizens Bank Park ahead of his third season with the Philadelphia Phillies, the six-time All-Star was donning some pretty unique cleats.
Just like he did in his first game with. the Phillies back in 2019, Harper showed up to opening day with spikes that paid homage to the Phillie Phanatic:
Harper - probably for the best - didn't actually wear the cleats when it came time for the team's game against the Atlanta Braves to begin.
Across his first two seasons with the Phillies, Harper has turned in strong offensive production, slashing .262/.385/.518 with 48 home runs and 147 RBIs in 215 games. To this point, though, Harper hasn't helped the Phillies return to the postseason for the first time since 2011.
