Joe DeCamara, Jon Ritchie, Devan Kaney, and James Seltzer reacted to the Philadelphia Phillies facing the red hot New York Mets in the NLDS.
"The Mets have had a better record for the last four months than the Phillies," DeCamara said on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show.
"We have not applied ourselves completed over that time period and they have had to apply themselves completely, just to get in," Ritchie said. "So, yeah they've been playing hard. They are not a team of destiny...That hot streak does end."
"When Milwaukee was up 2-0, I kind of was disappointed," Kaney said. "But I'm not scared of them...Fun is one way to put it. But I hate the Mets and I hate their fans."
Unlike his High Hopes Podcast co-host Jack Fritz, Seltzer is unafraid of the Mets.
"I thought I wanted the Brewers just because I do think they are a slightly easier path, but sports are supposed to be fun and this is super fun. And the Phillies are better than the Mets," Seltzer said. "The Phillies have been better all season long. They were 7-3 against the Mets in games that Taijuan Walker didn't start this season, for what's it worth. I think they're a better baseball team...I just think they are a way better team than this Mets team and I get it. The Mets are hot and we know a hot team can ride it, but I'm not going to be scared of this Mets team...We have home field advantage, we have a better baseball team, we have way better pitching, we're giving the ball to Zack Wheeler in Game 1. We've got this man!"
