Long time respected NFL journalist and Audacy insider Peter King discussed Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and the swirling Eagles' stories on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show.
Peter King interview begins at 25:29 mark
In regards to Hurts, King admits he took a big step back this season and says Hurts should focus on nothing but football this offseason.
"A year ago at this time, I would have said other than Patrick Mahomes he's the best quarterback in football.
"He took a step back this year, a major step back, particular down the stretch. And I think it's not just him as a player, I think it's him as a leader. I think he has to be better at both and this offseason has to be about that with Jalen Hurts.
"Right now, if I'm Jalen Hurts, I'm telling my agent, I'm telling Nick Sirianni—I'm interested in doing nothing this year other than playing football and being a great quarterback. I make a gillion dollars, now I am going to go out and earn it."
A.J. Brown had a tumultuous 2023 campaign, which has continued into the offseason. The latest is Brown has criticized the Philly media on his X account following comments from Craig Carton and a report from Derrick Gunn.
King says the Eagles “absolutely, unequivocally" have to get the Brown situation solved.
