Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown called into the 94WIP Afternoon Show to clear the air and discuss everything that is on his mind on Friday.
"I have no problem," Brown began by telling Ike Reese and Jack Fritz. "I want to be here, it's as simple as that. I love where I'm at, it's as simple as that. Next question."
"I'm the person you need on this team because I am willing to hold people accountable, make people around me better," Brown said later. "But nobody sees that. All you see is the little flare ups...Nobody in that building works harder than me, I can stand on that and say that."
Brown posted on X (which he confirmed on 94WIP), and later deleted, a video of new 94WIP Afternoon Show Spike Eskin talking about his father and 94WIP legendary host Howard Eskin saying, "My father—every car you've driven, house you owned, watch you purchased, is because of this place." Of Brown, Spike Eskin said, "You probably didn't mind the media here when they were talking about you are the best receiver in football."
Brown, however, misinterpreted the quote and thought Spike was talking about everything he owned and Brown asked Reese and Fritz about that.
"Some guy was talking about Philly media was the reason why I get paid to do this, I get cars, nice houses and all that," Brown said. "Why even talk like that?"
Reese did not realize the exact quote Brown was talking about at the time, to explain the discrepancy to him.
Brown was asked about his relationship with Jalen Hurts and if there is an issue within the Eagles' locker room.
"I think that is BS," Brown said on a potential rift between him and Hurts. "I'm not going to get into our relationship on the air...it wasn't a problem when I was on my six-game streak. They only started talking about that when we started losing."
"Yeah, the locker room was fine," Brown said about the locker room. "Players wasn't executing, that's what it came down to. I think the media kind of ran with the coaches...It was the players not executing."
