With the No. 22 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Alabama guard Labaron Philon Jr.
The pick, scheduled to be Philly’s only selection in the Draft coming in, was the first of four picks acquired from Oklahoma City in February when Jared McCain was sent to the Thunder.Philon Jr. was First Team All-SEC and a Third-Team All-American in 2025-26, when he averaged 22 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game for Alabama while shooting 50 percent from the field. He was also on the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2024-25 after averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 boards, and 3.8 dimes.
“I feel like Philly is a good place for me – they have Maxey and VJ at the guard spot, but they just added another dog,” Philon Jr. told ESPN moments after being selected.
This is the Sixers’ only scheduled pick because their original first-round selection, which would have been No. 17 overall, conveyed to OKC as the final piece of the Al Horford trade back in 2020, and their second-rounder, which ended up as No. 47 overall, was dealt to OKC in a three-team trade with the Knicks in 2021 and ended up as Phoenix’s pick coming into the night.
