Zach Ertz has been granted his release by the Arizona Cardinals and will be placed on waivers. Should the Eagles bring him home?
"Bring him home, what do you think Hugh? I'm in," Joe Giglio said on Thursday's 94WIP Midday Show minutes after the news broke. "I'll bring Zach Ertz back. Dallas Goedert banged up, it's been the second straight year he's banged up. And look, who are the other options here, Jack Stoll? Grant Calcaterra? Albert O?
"I would bring him back. I don't love their options as the backup to Goedert."
Eagles fans on X are in agreement with Giglio, as the vast majority want to bring him back.
Even folks around the NFL and connected to the NFL are speculating about Ertz returning to Philadelphia.
Ertz was placed on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury on October 24th.
Ertz, 33, has 27 catches for 187 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season with the Cardinals.
The Eagles' starting tight end Dallas Goedert is still dealing with an injury, with the hopes of returning this week, but a more realistic scenario of a Week 14 return.
Ertz, of course, spent most of his career—2013 to 2020—with the Eagles, helping them win the Super Bowl in 2018. He and his wife Julie Ertz are still very connected to the area.
