MILWAUKEE -- Originally diagnosed as an oblique strain, the side pain that sent Eric Bledsoe to the locker room early in Wednesday’s preseason win over the Jazz has been reevaluated. A rib cartilage fracture will sideline the 2019 NBA All-Defensive team point guard for at least two to three weeks. With Bledsoe likely out of the starting lineup for the 2019-20 season opener against the Rockets, veteran George Hill should assume starting duties. However, don’t rule out the possibility of a freakishly tall lineup.
Updated story for the JS: Broken rib cartilage puts Eric Bledsoe's status in question. He can come back as soon as pain is minimal, which could be 2-3 weeks, could be less. https://t.co/lvnZQn9z0N via @journalsentinel

October 11, 2019 “Giannis (Antetokounmpo), at all times, is a potential option at point guard,” said NBA Insider Shams Charania on The Big Show. “That will always be at the Bucks’ disposal. They’re not lost (or) without options.”
Bledsoe signed a four-year, $70-million contract extension with the Bucks in March. The team re-signed Hill to three-year, $29-million contract this summer. Behind the two traditional point guards, and Antetokounmpo, the team also has second-year player Donte DiVincenzo in the mix. Frank Mason III (two-way contract with the Wisconsin Herd) and Jaylen Adams (Exhibit 10 contract) are on the roster for now, too.
Charania, who broke the news of Bledsoe’s injury on
Twitter, joined The Big Show to discuss the news and the Bucks’ position in the NBA contender conversation.
