MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers outright assigned utility man Hernan Perez to Triple-A San Antonio on Wednesday. Perez declined that assignment and will become a free agent. He had one year of team control (Arbitration Year 3) remaining.

October 16, 2019 Perez was claimed off waivers by the Brewers in June 2015. He remained a significant part of the Major-League roster from that point forward, playing in 572 games and appearing at every position except catcher.
Perez was designated for assignment by the organization in June, cleared waivers and was outright assigned to Triple-A San Antonio on July 3 and rejoined the Brewers on Aug. 9.
