The Marquette Golden Eagles have extended Head Coach Steve Wojciechowski with a five-year contract that will keep him in Milwaukee through the 2023-24 season. He has led the Golden Eagles to a 97-69 record over the past five seasons. This has included two NCAA Tournament selections, neither of which saw Marquette make it out of the first round.

May 7, 2019 Still, the program seems to be trending upward. Wojo took over the team in the 2014-15 season when he led them to a 13-19 record and a 9th place finish in the Big East. Marquette finished in the top three in the Big East two of the last three seasons and they have had three, 20-plus win seasons over the last four years.
With star point guard Markus Howard returning for one more season, the Golden Eagles look to be dangerous yet again in the Big East and beyond. However, the program did lose out on two of their most talented recruits in recent memory, the Hauser brothers, who elected to transfer following last season.
Wojo will have to look to fill in their shoes and he may have helped do that by receiving a commitment from 7-foot center, Jayce Johnson, a grad transfer from Utah.

May 7, 2019 Marquette still has a lot of work to do, but the university obviously has bought into whatever Wojciechowski is preaching. We will see where he takes the program over the next five seasons.
