(WWJ) This is not a joke, and it's not a drill.
Kraft, the maker of what's likely the world's most recognizable boxed macaroni and cheese, is out with a surprising new variety specially flavored for fall.
On Thursday, Kraft announced it is bringing its limited-edition Kraft Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese to the U.S.
This comes after the product launched in Canada earlier this week. And in just 48 hours, Kraft says over 30,000 Canadians signed up for an online waitlist to get their hands on a box of the strange stuff.
If you're scratching your head wondering what in the heck it woud taste like, here's a hint:
"Kraft Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese is the same cheesy Mac & Cheese Americans know and love, now with added fall flavors: hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger," Kraft said, in a media release, adding, "Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese is best served curled up with a cozy scarf, flannel shirt, and pumpkin-scented candle...While Pumpkin Spice Mac & Cheese may be trolling the classic ‘PSL’, this cheesy treat is very real and will make its way to the USA soon!"
If you're not ready to barf at the thought and want to try it, you'll have to wait just a bit.
Starting on 9/25 through 9/29, Americans can enter for a chance to get limited-edition Kraft Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese using #PumpkinSpiceKMC #Sweepstakes and tagging @KraftMacNCheese on Twitter for a chance to win one of 1,000 limited edition Pumpkin Spice Kraft Mac and Cheese products.
Kraft asks mac & cheese lovers to follow @KraftMacNCheese on Twitter, on Friday for more details on how you can get your hands on a box.
“After seeing the huge response Pumpkin Spice Mac & Cheese received north of the border, and even hearing some heated debates about it down here, we had to bring it to the U.S. for Americans to try,” said Martina Davis, Brand Manager for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, “Who knows? Maybe it could become a new North American fall favorite.”
