The annual week-long celebration of the shark has taken on a life of its own ever since it debuted in 1988. Shark Week 2021 kicked off on July 11 and there’s been no shortage of highly-entertaining shark festivities.

As you partake in the Shark Week celebrations, you’re going to need some music to keep the party going. Here are our favorite songs that are about sharks. And no, the Jaws theme song won’t be on this playlist.

Trippie gives a direct shout out to Shark Week in this track, which ensures it receives a spot on our playlist. The song was co-written by Travis Barker and is somewhat of a love story as Trippie equates his romantic pursuit to that of the fierce Megalodon shark.

Jimmy Buffett has a penchant for crafting the perfect tracks for the beach. In this case, sharks are used as a metaphor, but we’ll allow it as it’ll create a feeding frenzy when you put it on the stereo.

Pinkfong - Baby Shark

How could Baby Shark not be included? Apologies in advance for this song being stuck in your head for the next 24 hours.

LL Cool J - Deepest Bluest

If you’ve seen the movie Deep Blue Sea, this song will connect on many levels. If not, well, then the chorus of “my hat is like a shark’s fin” probably won’t make too much sense.

V V Brown - Shark In The Water

This breezy song will have you singing “baby, there’s a shark in the water” all day long. The song takes on a personal meaning as Brown uses the “shark in the water” as a metaphor for anxiety.

The frenetic song perfectly encapsulates the feeling of a “Shark Attack.” Fast paced, wild, and full of chaos.

Oh Wonder - Shark
