(610 Sports) -- Sterling Skye Mahomes was welcomed into the world in late February, the daughter of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and fiancé Brittany Matthews. Two months removed from that life-changing day, Mahomes joined Carrington Harrison of 'The Drive' and shared what life has been like since becoming a father.

"It's going amazing, learning a lot every single day. Learning what she likes, learning what she doesn't like and trying to figure out the best way to keep her happy as much as possible, it's truly an amazing experience and we'll continue to learn as we go," said Mahomes.

When it came to seeing and holding his daughter for the first time, Mahomes shared his experience that many first-time parents have had and it didn't involve much sleep. "It was something crazy, it's hard to explain unless you've had a child before," said Mahomes. "I know the first night I had to hold her the entire night and I stayed up until like 5 in the morning even though she was asleep, just because I wanted to make sure everything was perfect and there was nothing wrong. You learn as you go and you can let them do certain things and they'll be perfectly fine, you just continue to try and do whatever can to put them in the best position possible."

When it comes to those 2am feedings, Mahomes says he's up and willing to help but Brittany is just on top of everything, so he goes from quarterback to cheerleader, just being as supportive as possible for her.

"She's a champ, I mean she's up every time and I'm just kind of a cheerleader on the sideline and just trying to make sure everything's going good. Whatever she needs, I'll try to go do."
