Patrick Mahomes teases new hairstyle for next season

(610 Sports) – When people think of Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes, two things generally come to mind. The first, obviously, is his stellar play on the football field. The second, would be his hairstyle, the taper-faded curly mohawk that has become just as iconic as his ability to complete a no-look pass to Travis Kelce.

Could Mahomes be looking to change up his signature look and get a new hairstyle? It seems that could soon be the case, as he hinted as much during his weekly segment on 610 Sports' The Drive on Thursday.

With a divisional round matchup against Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars on the horizon, show host Carrington Harrison came with a hard-hitting question for Mahomes.

"Tomorrow, if you had the ability to trade your hair for Trevor Lawrence's, would you do it," Harrison asked?

"I have been thinking about switching my hair up," said Mahomes. "This offseason, I'm thinking about doing a little change to the hairstyle, so we'll see. I might bring the 'Trevor Lawrence' back next year."

If it happens, Mahomes says not to expect advanced notice, only a select few will be in the loop.

"I'll let Brittany and my family know, then I'll let Head & Shoulders know," said Mahomes. "I'm sure they'll have something to say about it."

Given Mahomes popularity, his hair is important to him but many people probably wouldn’t care about Patrick Mahomes’ hair if he stunk it up on the football field. But his elite play and popular hairstyle have worked together to make him the face of the NFL.
