What will the Chiefs do about Orlando Brown Jr. this offseason?

Chiefs' left tackle Orlando Brown was one of the bigger storylines this past offseason, as he held out of camp in hopes of securing a longterm contract. That contract never came – the team put the Franchise Tag on Brown – and now that we're getting closer to the playoffs and beyond, the question of what the team will do about his contract situation is starting to come back up. While speaking to 610's Cody and Gold, The Athletic's Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor explained how he sees the situation playing out.

"Quietly, I might say the thing that no one wants to hear right now," he said. "Have you seen the tackle play in college? It's not as good as the wide receivers coming out of college ... I think JuJu fits the offense kind of perfectly, when healthy, when in the role, but also, there's just more receivers out there ... Orlando Brown has played really well over the last month. He does tend to get better as the season goes along. This is why it gets fascinating – I can't find you a better replacement."
