David Haugh (3-2): Bears 34, Commanders 20
Expect Justin Fields to continue the momentum that he started in Minnesota. Play-caller Luke Getsy will keep it safe and smart, affording Fields the opportunity to grow at his own rate. The Bears defense will benefit from the return of Jaylon Johnson, thwarting the Commanders’ best chance at explosive plays. This won’t be pretty, but it won’t be a moral victory either. The real kind are preferred anyway.
Danny Parkins (4-1): Bears 27, Commanders 20
I'm drinking the Kool-Aid and thinking that the Bears’ second-half offensive performance from Sunday will continue against the Commanders. Washington's defense is bad, and it seems like something clicked for Chicago’ offense. The Bears will struggle against good teams, but that's not what's coming to Soldier Field on Thursday. Darnell Mooney finds the end zone as the Bears win.
Matt Spiegel (5-0): Bears 31, Commanders 24
Wait, 30 points?!? Who are these Bears?!? Fields will approach his first 300-yard game and throw two touchdowns, while David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert grind out most of the fourth quarter. The Commanders are in some chaos. Justin Jones has his best game yet as a three-technique, and we all notice.
Gabe Ramirez (2-3): Bears 24, Commanders 17
When Fields is getting those “cheap completions” that Getsy was talking about, it allows for the likes of Montgomery, Mooney and Cole Kmet to gain a rhythm. It also builds confidence in the whole team. The Bears continue to develop while earning a victory and walk away from this game headed in the right direction.
Shane Riordan (2-3): Bears 44, Commanders 6
I have absolutely no interest in watching or talking about this football game. I'm gonna do it, but just know there's nothing I'd rather do less.
Chris Tannehill (5-0): Bears 21, Commanders 16
I'm not totally sold on the Bears offense turning a corner just yet, but the Commanders have given up the second-most touchdowns in the NFL. They don't really take the ball away, and although the Bears may be a willing participant, this matchup is set up for Fields to stack another game of competence. The most dangerous weapon Washington has is Carson Wentz, and he appears to be banged up. Johnson's return could be the difference in this one. But remember, there are no real winners during Thursday Night Football.
Adam Studzinski (2-3): Bears 27, Commanders 21
What a lovely Thursday night matchup. Both teams are bad. I think the Bears are slightly less bad. Wentz is committing backbreaking turnovers at the worst times, and that will end up being the difference.
Chris Emma (5-0): Bears 24, Commanders 21
These Thursday Night Football games can be the source of ridicule, and this matchup in particular has fans considering other options (they’ll watch anyway). But I believe this will turn into an entertaining game. Fields will continue to show a positive trajectory as the Bears improve to 3-3.
Cam Ellis (3-2): Bears 30, Commanders 17
Some personal news: I'm happy to announce that I'll be the first person on 670's staff to predict a huge Bears win based on basically no rationale whatsoever. The facts are the facts: The Bears are unstoppable at home on Thursday nights. When they play in the Super Bowl in Arlington Heights, the McCaskeys need to throw that family name around and get it played on a Thursday night. Enjoy the peaceful weekend, everyone.
