David Haugh: Bears 27, Packers 23
The Bears need this game more than Packers. Justin Fields will be the best quarterback at Soldier Field because he has to be. The kicking game — a potentially big and overlooked factor — favors the Bears. Uncertainty surrounds both teams in opener, but it’s harder to believe in (Jordan) Love than Fields.
Danny Parkins: Bears 30, Packers 24
Green Bay has success running the ball, but so does Fields. Neither defense puts up much of a fight, and the Bears win in Week 1 to ramp up the hype even more.
Matt Spiegel: Bears 24, Packers 17
Love looks mediocre more than Fields looks great, but it feels damn good to beat the Packers and overall positivity pervades.
Gabe Ramirez: Bears 24, Packers 20
The Bears come out flat but eventually get the ball rolling. A game that starts with a depressing first half turns into a glorious come-from-behind win for the Bears thanks to a Darnell Mooney touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Chris Tannehill: Packers 23, Bears 21
Well, I've finally watched the All-22 (YouTube clips) of the entire 2022 season (Norm Macdonald videos), and I'm ready to defend my title as picks champion. I can confidently say that I have no idea what these two teams will look like. I'm also not ready to concede that Love will be bad just because.
Adam Studzinski: Bears 24, Packers 20
Fields does something awesome. DJ Moore scores his first touchdown for the Bears after beating Jaire Alexander on a double move. Eddie Jackson picks off Love late in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Shane Riordan: Bears 32, Packers 10
The state of Wisconsin was built on cheese and alcoholism. Over the last 33 years, on the day that parents pick up their newborn’s birth certificate — at the Mars Cheese Castle — they’ve been committing that child to nothing but success in their football fandom. That reign ends this Sunday. Fields rushes for 100 yards and throws for 250 yards while the Packers’ defense looks like Swiss as Moore scores his first two touchdowns as a Chicago Bear. Not very Gouda for Green Bay. Love is embarrassed by a dominant Gervon Dexter, who records his first three NFL sacks.
Chris Emma: Bears 20, Packers 17
The 205th regular-season meeting between the Bears and the Packers will come down to the final play, a game-winning field goal by Cairo Santos. Chicago will open its new season filled with hope.
Evan Thomas: Packers 31, Bears 13
Green Bay’s running game will beat down Chicago’s defensive line and make it a tough day for the Bears’ defense. The Bears’ offense will be OK, with Fields throwing for just more than 200 yards, but Chicago’s running game will get stuck.
Kevin Lapka: Bears 27, Packers 23
The NFL schedule-makers knew what they were doing with this one. Both teams in the most storied rivalry in NFL history embark on new eras for their respective franchise in front of a national audience on America's Game of the Week on FOX. The Bears know the magnitude of the moment and will meet it behind an offense with explosive capabilities and a ball-hawking defense. Fields will outplay Love, the Chicago defense will force two turnovers and the changing of the guard in this rivalry will commence in front of a riled-up, sold-out Soldier Field.
