Hightower, 41, has worked as the 49ers' special teams coordinator since 2017. He joined San Francisco after serving as Chicago's assistant special teams coach in 2016.
Hightower has 15 years of experience coaching in the NFL.
New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus has completed his coordinator additions with Luke Getsy (offensive coordinator), Alan Williams (defensive coordinator) and now Hightower.
