(670 The Score) New Bears general manager Ryan Poles has made another key hire to his front office, tabbing Trey Koziol as co-director of player personnel.

Koziol was officially hired to the Bears on March 14. He brings 14 years of NFL scouting experience, including the last nine alongside Poles in the Chiefs' scouting department.

Koziol was the Chiefs' assistant director of college scouting last season. He also worked as an area scout (2013-'17) and national scout (2018-'20) for Kansas City. Prior to joining the Chiefs, he worked for the Titans for five years.

In his new role, Koziol will work with Poles and assistant general manager Ian Cunningham at the top of the Bears' football operations department. Koziol is a Hinsdale product who played alongside Poles as a tight end at Boston College.

The Bears haven't formally announced any changes to their scouting department under Poles. That could come following the NFL Draft in late April.
