In return from cracked ribs, Bears' Justin Fields estimates he played at 90% health in loss to Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (670 The Score) -- Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields made it through mostly unscathed during his team's 45-30 loss to the Packers on Sunday night at Lambeau Field.

Fields estimated that he played at about 90% health in his first game back from fractured ribs, which he suffered during a game on Nov. 21. Fields' fractures were fully healed, the Bears said last week upon clearing him to return to action. What remains of the injury is constant pain, which Fields said he felt on every throw.

"The pain is bearable," Fields said.

Fields went 18-of-33 for 224 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He was sacked twice and hurried nine times during the loss.

After the game, Fields underwent an X-ray on his left hand, which he indicated was fine. Fields didn't wear a cast or protective brace of any kind on that hand while addressing reporters.

The Bears (4-9) were officially eliminated from NFC North title contention with the loss, and their hopes of reaching the playoffs as a wild card are extremely bleak.

"It's tough," Fields said. "Of course we all wanted to come into this game and win. I told the guys before the game, 'There's no better time to win than now.' Of course, it didn't turn out that way. But all we can do is go back this week is continue to get better."
