(670 The Score) The Bears have shut down second-year guard Teven Jenkins after he reaggravated a neck injury, the team announced Wednesday.
Jenkins left the Bears' loss to the Lions on Sunday with a neck injury. He first suffered the injury in a frightening ordeal during the Bears' game against the Eagles on Dec. 18. Jenkins was carted off of Soldier Field then and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
A second-round pick of the Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft, Jenkins played in 13 games while transitioning from tackle to guard this season. The Bears officially placed him on injured reserve Wednesday.
The Bears also placed veteran reserve guard Michael Schofield and rookie cornerback Josh Blackwell on injured reserve. Schofield suffered a knee injury Sunday. It's unclear what injury caused Blackwell to land on injured reserve.
Bears quarterback Justin Fields (hip) didn't practice Wednesday after the team ruled him out for the season finale. Safety Jaquan Brisker (personal) and cornerback Jaylon Jones (concussion) also didn't practice. Long snapper Patrick Scales (neck) and tight end Trevon Wesco (ankle) were limited participants. Receiver Dante Pettis (head) practiced in full.
The Bears (3-13) host the Vikings (12-4) on Sunday at Soldier Field in their season finale.
