Bears sign tackle Julien Davenport on 1-year deal

(670 The Score) The Bears have signed veteran offensive tackle Julien Davenport to a one-year deal, they announced Monday morning.

Davenport, 27, has played in 60 games and started in 32 over five NFL seasons with the Texans (2017-'18), Dolphins (2019-'20) and Colts (2021). He started four games for Indianapolis last season. The Bears invited Davenport for a workout last week.

In signing Davenport, the Bears have added a swing tackle for their offensive line and likely competition for incumbent starters Larry Borom and Teven Jenkins.

The Bears worked through their minicamp last week with Borom at left tackle and Jenkins at right tackle, a change from last season.
