Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher hopes to see Bears great Olin Kreutz join him in Canton

(670 The Score) Legendary linebacker Brian Urlacher was the first of the core members of the 2000s Bears to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as he was enshrined back in 2018. Since then, former teammates Devin Hester and Julius Peppers have also been inducted.

Urlacher hopes that more of his former Bears teammates earn their place in Canton as Hall of Famers, and there’s one player in particular whom he really hopes to see get that recognition.

“They don’t even talk about Olin (Kreutz), which drives me crazy,” Urlacher said on the Rahimi & Harris Show on Wednesday. “You can also throw Charles (Tillman) in that conversation. (Julius Peppers) got in, Devin (Hester) got in right away. Olin is a guy who should get in. You look at his resume.

“I was very fortunate because I got to practice against the best center in the league every single day in practice. It benefited my career. It benefited our defense’s playing ability. It drives me crazy – whenever I get a chance to talk about it, I bring up Olin, because in my mind, he’s the one guy who needs to be in there.”

Kreutz was a six-time Pro Bowl center who played 14 years in the NFL, including 13 with the Bears from 1998-2010. He was a key leader for Chicago’s teams during the early part of this century. He also earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2006.
