CHICAGO (670 The Score) – The Bulls’ fast-paced transition game highlighted their rally from a 23-point deficit in a 128-107 win against the Grizzlies on Sunday at the United Center, but another element was also at the foundation of their big comeback.

The Bulls took care of the ball in historic fashion, as they committed just three turnovers in the victory. That tied Chicago’s franchise record for the fewest turnovers in a single game, according to research by Bulls PR. The most recent time the Bulls had accomplished that was on March 2, 2014.

The Bulls’ superb ball care effort could’ve been even more historic had they not been aggressive in the final seconds of the first half and displayed sportsmanship in running out the clock in the final seconds of the game. The Bulls’ first turnover of the game came when they tried a long baseball pass with 1.5 seconds left in the first half that was tipped. That turnover was credited to guard Patrick Beverley.

The Bulls’ second turnover came at the 5:49 mark of the third quarter when they had a shot clock violation, which gets recorded as a team turnover. Their final turnover came as they took a shot clock violation with 3.5 seconds remaining in the game as they held a 21-point lead.

“I didn’t even know that, I wish we could do that all the time,” Bulls star guard Zach LaVine said postgame when informed of the feat. “If it was that easy, shoot. They’re an aggressive team. They play with their hands a lot. I think we did a good job of making simple passes.”

The record for fewest turnovers in an NBA game is one, a mark set by the Denver Nuggets on Feb. 23, 2021.
