(670 The Score) The Cubs have recalled right-hander Kohl Stewart before opening a road series against the Reds in the evening, Sahadev Sharma of the Athletic reported.
Stewart, 26, has a 5.68 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 12 2/3 innings across three appearances for the Cubs this season.
In a corresponding move, the Cubs optioned reliever Tommy Nance back down to the minor leagues. He has a 5.06 ERA in 19 appearance for them this season. Nance has been a steady arm out of the bullpen for the Cubs, though he struggled in allowing five runs, all earned, in 1 2/3 innings of a 15-7 loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.
