Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. reportedly suffered scrapes and bruises in a recent motorcycle crash.
The incident occurred on Sunday night in Tatis' native Dominican Republic, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Dominican reporter Baudilio Jimenez said the 22-year-old slugger, a first-time All-Star in 2021, was released from a hospital in the city of Higuey after he was examined and treated. Tatis was back to "normal activities" by Tuesday, the Union-Tribune reported.
Neither the team nor league had comment on Tatis' situation, given standing procedures during the lockout.
Tatis led the National League in home runs last season, despite being limited to 130 games. The second-generation slugger missed time after testing positive for coronavirus and later due to a shoulder injury. His rookie campaign also ended prematurely due to a back ailment.
Through three seasons, Tatis is hitting .292/.369/.596 with 81 home runs in 1,175 career regular-season plate appearances. He finished third in Rookie of the Year voting in 2019, fourth for MVP in 2020, and third for MVP in 2021.
Last season marked the first in a record 14-year, $340 million extension signed by Tatis in February 2021.
