Despite a night that saw the Sox get crushed by the St. Louis Cardinals 11-2 on Saturday, fans still had enough energy to sing along to "Sweet Caroline" in the eighth inning.

The famous Neil Diamond song has been a tradition at Fenway for quite some time now. However, during this latest playing of the 60's classic, Diamond himself appeared in Boston to sing the song himself for the first time since 2013.

Diamond was joined by Will Swenson, the cast of A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical, and of course the Red Sox faithful in blurting out the lyrics.

The appearance by the legendary singer was quite a surprise considering he quit touring the country in 2018 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. The musical being made about Diamond, A Beautiful Noise, will begin its world premiere six-week engagement at Boston’s Emerson Colonial on Tuesday, June 21. Following that, the show will head to Broadway.
