If Odell Beckham Jr. is angling for a job with the Indianapolis Colts, then he might’ve been laying the groundwork Tuesday.
The wideout, who is a free agent but recovering from a torn ACL after winning the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams, was complimentary of the Colts’ trade with the Atlanta Falcons for quarterback Matt Ryan.
It’s hard to disagree with anything Beckham said, as Ryan is an obvious upgrade over Carson Wentz for a Colts team that shot itself in the foot last season to narrowly miss the playoffs.
So, was that an effort from Beckham to try to draw the attention of Colts general manager Chris Ballard? For Beckham’s sake, hopefully not.
"I didn’t see the tweet, I stay off of Twitter, but I’m glad he approves," Ballard said Tuesday on the "Pat McAfee Show." "He’s a great player, I’m glad he approves."
Once healthy, Beckham theoretically would be a good fit for the Colts. He would give Ryan and Indy another option in the air, which only would help open things up on the ground for Jonathan Taylor.
But if the 29-year-old is playing for the Colts this season (or next given his injury), it doesn’t sound like it will be because of a March 21 tweet.
