For as polarizing of a player as he is among talent evaluators, there's little debate about Taysom Hill's value as a quarterback among the fantasy football community.

In his second start of the season, Hill completed 15 of 21 pass attempts for the New Orleans Saints, finishing the team's 30-9 win over the New York Jets with 175 passing yards.

But for as pedestrian as Hill's passing numbers were, he carried the ball 11 times for 73 yards Sunday and two rushing touchdowns:

In reality, the fourth-quarter touchdown run above had pretty much no impact on the outcome of the game Sunday. But a second rushing touchdown allowed the 31-year-old to finish the day with 26.3 fantasy points.

At the time of publication, Hill is the highest-scoring quarterback in Week 14 of the fantasy season in ESPN PPR leagues. He's No. 6 in points among all players, trailing only Dalvin Cook, Hunter Renfrow, Mark Andrews, Tyler Lockett and Rashaad Penny. Mind you, Week 14 is the final week of the regular season in most leagues, so Hill may propel some teams into the playoffs.

Though he was intercepted four times in Week 13, Hill was still worth 20.66 points in his first start of the season, sixth among all quarterbacks. In a Thursday Night Football loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Hill tossed two touchdowns and scampered for 101.

With fantasy playoffs set to begin next week in most leagues, Hill -- even as he manages "mallet finger" on his throwing hand -- appears to be a legitimate option as a starting quarterback for championship contending teams. His success in fantasy is contingent on him having success rushing the ball (and ideally, finding the end zone), but there's no reason to think that he won't continue to do that for the remainder of the 2021 season.
