Here's an interesting nugget that could be perhaps even more compelling in a little more than 24 hours.
Former University of Georgia Defensive Tackle Jordan Davis told EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer that his mother is a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, and is rooting for him to end up on the team. Smith notes that Davis and fellow Bulldog defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt did visit the Eagles.
In his senior season at Georgia, Davis recorded 32 total tackles, five tackles for a loss and two sacks. As part of a defense that also included the aforementioned Wyatt, Nakobe Dean and Travon Walker, Davis helped Gerogia to defeat Alabama to win the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Davis boosted his stock even more at the NFL Combine, where he was measured at 6-foot-6 with 34-inch arms and 10 3/4-inch hands. Despite weighing 341 pounds, Davis ran a 4.78 40-yard dash and posted a 32-inch vertical jump.
Given that both Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave can become free agents after the 2022 season, investing in an interior defensive lineman with the talent of Davis might make sense for the Eagles if he remains on the board at pick No. 15 and No. 18 picks.
