The Baltimore Ravens were involved one of several trades that shook up the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
In fact, they pulled off arguably the biggest stunner when they dealt wide receiver Hollywood Brown and a third-rounder to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for the 23rd overall pick.
Brown is coming off a career year in which he reeled in 91 catches, but perhaps more importantly he is a favorite target and personal friend of quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The 2019 NFL MVP didn't seem especially pleased by the seemingly out-of-nowhere swap involving Brown, firing off a simple three-letter response.
"wtf," Jackson said in a tweet.
In case there were any confusion, Jackson followed up with another tweet later in the night, again indicating his frustration with the departure of Brown.
This time, it was a series of emojis expressing displeasure at Brown posing for a photograph with his new team.
For their part, the Ravens said the trade was actually made at Brown's behest.
After Round 1, Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta told reporters that Brown had requested a trade at the end of the season, ESPN reported.
“It’s something I anguished over for a long time,” DeCosta said.
Brown has previously expressed frustration with his role in the Ravens' run-heavy offense, though he saw 146 targets last season.
