Rob Gronkowski has dabbled in wrestling before and it sounds like he may be up for a return to the ring.

The NFL tight end told TMZ Sports over the weekend that he hopes to enter the WWE following his football career and wants to go toe-to-toe with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in a tag team match.

“It would be pretty cool to have The Rock come back, and face The Rock,” Gronk said. “Or have him as my tag team partner.”

Gronkowski, who has yet to decide whether or not he will play in 2022, was previously under contract with WWE and hosted WrestleMania 36, winning the 24/7 Championship, which was eventually overtaken from him after 57 days.

He has not had a true match of his own, though, and would love to start off against someone as legendary as The Rock because he is one of Gronk’s favorite wrestlers.

The Rock, who became an actor after leaving the WWE in 2004, has made sporadic appearances since until officially retiring in 2019. So any return of The Rock in the ring ought to be a big deal and maybe, just maybe, it will involve Gronk as well.
